Water Baptism

Getting baptized is your next step after receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Following the example of Jesus Christ, we practice full water immersion as a symbol of letting go of our old self and being raised in the newness of life.

F.A.Q.

1. Who can be baptized?

Anyone that has personally placed their faith in Jesus Christ. (Romans 10:9, Romans 6:4)

2. When should I be water baptized?

Upon placing your faith in Jesus Christ you, can take the next step immediately to be baptized. (Acts 8:12)

3. Do you water baptize children?

We wait to water baptize a child until he/she is old enough to believe and understand the true meaning of baptism. All instances of water baptism in scripture followed a person’s own decision to trust Christ alone for their salvation. When a child makes a personal decision to follow Jesus, we come alongside parents to gauge this with their child then we will gladly help with taking a step towards water baptism.

4. Why do you do full water immersion?

The Greek word from which we get the word baptism is “baptizo”, which literally means “to immerse”. Jesus was water baptized by John the Baptist by being fully immersed in the water and rising out of it. (Mark 16:16, Matthew 28:19)
